Alexandra Hakim is a renowned jewellery designer with a strong commitment to zero-waste design and sustainability. Her delicate pieces are inspired by a wide range of sources, including Lebanon’s industrial coastline, Mediterranean tomato stems, and Mexican food markets. Hakim’s jewellery is handmade, using traditional techniques combined with innovative technical skills. She prioritizes the use of recycled or found materials that would otherwise be wasted, emphasizing sustainability in her practice.
Hakim received her training from Central St Martin’s and the Rhode Island School of Design, where she honed her artisan craft and creative practice. She launched her eponymous jewellery line in 2016 in Beirut, where it gained instant acclaim, quickly establishing Hakim in the male-dominated field of metalwork. Her jewellery has been featured in top-tier publications such as Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire, and has been worn by celebrities such as Rihanna.
